Warlock is a character originating from Marvel Comics' New Mutants series. Created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, he first appeared in New Mutants #18 in 1984.
He is a member of the Technarchy, a race of techno-organic beings that survive by infecting other living organisms with the "Techno-Organic Virus." Warlock is unique among his kind due to his capacity for compassion and empathy, traits considered aberrant within the Technarchy.
Escaping his warlike father, Magus, Warlock fled to Earth and befriended the New Mutants, becoming a valuable and often humorous member of the team. His powers include shapeshifting, energy projection, and the ability to interface with and manipulate technology.
Despite his alien origins and potentially dangerous abilities, Warlock is characterized by his innocence and loyalty, forming strong bonds with his teammates and striving to use his powers for good.
